Ruth Reichl, world-renowned food critic and former editor in chief of Gourmet magazine, knows a thing or two about food. She also knows that as the most important food critic in the country, you need to be anonymous when reviewing some of the most high-profile establishments in the biggest restaurant town in the world—a charge she took very seriously, taking on the guise of a series of eccentric personalities. In Garlic and Sapphires, Reichl reveals the comic absurdity, artifice, and excellence to be found in the sumptuously appointed stages of the epicurean world and gives us—along with some of her favorite recipes and reviews—her remarkable reflections on how one’s outer appearance can influence one’s inner character, expectations, and appetites, not to mention the quality of service one receives.

Stoic, broody, and arrogant, elite bodyguard Rhys Larsen has two rules: 1) Protect his clients at all costs 2) Do not become emotionally involved. Ever. He has never once been tempted to break those rules…until her. Bridget von Ascheberg. A princess with a stubborn streak that matches his own and a hidden fire that reduces his rules to ash. She’s nothing he expected and everything he never knew he needed. Day by day, inch by inch, she breaks down his defenses until he’s faced with a truth he can no longer deny: he swore an oath to protect her, but all he wants is to ruin her. Take her. Because she’s his. His princess. His forbidden fruit. His every depraved fantasy.
Regal, strong-willed, and bound by the chains of duty, Princess Bridget dreams of the freedom to live and love as she chooses. But when her brother abdicates, she’s suddenly faced with the prospect of a loveless, politically expedient marriage and a throne she never wanted. And as she navigates the intricacies-and treacheries-of her new role, she must also hide her desire for a man she can’t have. Her bodyguard. Her protector. Her ultimate ruin. Unexpected and forbidden, theirs is a love that could destroy a kingdom…and doom them both. Do not become emotionally involved. Ever.

Cult Classic Movie Night: “Troll 2”
Friday, June 12
8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Join us on Friday, June 12th, 2026 at 8pm, as we screen our 118th cult classic: Troll 2 (1990/PG-13/95 min/B-Horror, Dark Fantasy, Folk Humor)
summary: A vacationing family discovers that the entire town of Nilbog (goblin spelled backwards) that they’re visiting is inhabited by goblins, disguised as humans, who plan to eat them.
Despite its original title Goblins, American distributors marketed it as a sequel to the 1986 horror film Troll, despite it not actually featuring trolls. With head-sratching decisions such as its title, Producer Joe D’Amato’s low-budget approach to filmmaking, and a sizeable language barrier between an Italian-speaking cast and English-speaking crew, what resulted is an effort that has subsequently become regarded as one of the goofiest “so bad it’s good” films of all time.
