2026 Teen Summer Reading Challenge

Summer Reading is June 3rd through August 14th! Middle and High School students are eligible to participate.

This year’s theme is Unearth a Story!

This year you can log your reading using a paper log (more info in the sign up form) and have the option of completing a bonus challenge for a big mystery prize at the end of the summer.

Notable events:

  • Wednesday, July 8, @ 4pm: Tween/Teen Slime Party (Community Room, ages 10-18): Join Ms. Gina and Ms. Alex in making an ode to primordial ooze — slime! This program is part of our Summer Reading theme, Unearth a Story.
  • Friday, July 10, @ 2 pm: Teen Paint Party (Community Room, ages 12-18): Join Vanesa from Paint by Venus to paint a cute swimming cat.
  • Tuesday-Thursday, July 14- July 16 @ 4-6pm: D&D Dungeon Master Academy (Community Room, ages 8-18):  Learn to run your own D&D game with our expert volunteer, Alex Peck! You must be able to attend all three sessions (July 14-16). Dungeon Master Academy is a three day workshop for kids and teens that teaches you how to be a game master for Dungeons & Dragons (and similar games).
  • Wednesday, July 22, @ 4 pm: Plant Needle Felting (Teen Space, ages 12-18): Stop by the Teen Space for this fun craft.
  • Wednesday, 8/5 @ 4 pm: Dino Dodgeball (Community Room, ages 10-18): Forms teams to win this library dodgeball tournament.
  • Friday, August 14 @ 3-4:30pm: Summer Reading Finale (Community Room, all ages). Build a custom sundae and sit down to watch Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009, PG) to celebrate the end of Summer Reading!
