Each player will only attend once a week on either Wednesday or Thursday; your slot will be assigned by the library based on your availability, experience, and other factors. The club is spread across two days to accommodate as many members as possible and follows the Dobbs Ferry Schools calendar for vacations and days off. Celebrate the year of the snake with the Dobbs Ferry Library! Enjoy a live shadow puppet show by Queens-based Chinese Theatre Works from 1:30 to 2pm. Sample tasty treats like rice cakes and ramen, play games like Yutnori, construct a craft, and do a special scavenger hunt during the rest of the event!
Chinese Theatre Works presents Chinese Shadow Theatre! Chinese shadow performance has a history going back 2000 years. This theater tradition uses beautifully carved and colored animal-hide figures, manipulated behind cloth screens in order to portray vivid episodes from history, literature and folklore. Through two stories— “The Fox Borrows the Tiger’s Shadow” and “The Zodiac Parade”— Chinese Theatre Works shares this beautiful art form with fun and whimsy. Participants will get an up close look at traditional leather puppets and a hands-on opportunity to learn about this ancient art form.

Help your toddler find their breath and follow along as they flow through this little-kid-friendly practice with Pooja Mehta. The interactive yoga adventure will be having them move in a way that feels good and allows them to use their imagination as they stretch their body and calm their mind!
