FerryCon 2026

FerryCon 2026

Saturday, September 26

11:00 am - 5:00 pm

FerryCon is the library’s annual Comic Con-style flagship event for all ages that takes place one Saturday every fall (formerly spring). Since 2019, FerryCon has brought over 300 participants to the library for fun-filled events including artists alley, classes, panels, and contests that revolved around comic books, graphic novels, super heroes, and more! 

This event is free but will include a suggested donation of $5 per family at the door. We’re fundraising for the library this year!

 

Headlining Events
We’re so excited about our line-up for you this year! The following events will be in the Community Room unless otherwise noted.

    • 11:15am: Meet & Greet with Spider-Man, followed by a spidey-sational storytime!
    • 12pm: Kids’ Combat Workshop with Hudson Valley Saber Guild
    • 1pm: Storybuilding: Create Your Own Characters and Tell Your Own Story with author Mina Elwell
    • 2pm: Sculpt Your Avatar art workshop with MakerHive
    • 3:30pmSuper Mario Galaxy (PG, 2026) showing with snacks

Other Activities
In the other parts of the library, you can:

    • Have your tarot cards read by Shannon Gilchrist at her table
    • Dance the day away at our KPop Dance Party in the Teen Space
    • Trade Pokémon cards with local student Leo Turk in the lounge
    • Play Magic the Gathering with volunteer Ari Malul in the lounge
    • Make a button or get a temporary tattoo in the Teen Space

Artist Alley
All around the library, visit the tables of local artists, businesses, and more!

Raffle
Enter our raffle to win the kids, teen, and/or adult gift basket containing prizes like a signed Marvel comics, superhero merch, and more! Proceeds go to the Friends of the Dobbs Ferry Library. $3 for 1 ticket or $5 for 2 tickets. Feel free to buy these ahead of time in the week leading up to the event, too.

Join Sara of Gardening & More for a hands-on exploration of soil and its properties. Learn about decomposition and the role of Compost Critters, explore Red Wiggler worms up close, and make a worm bin from reusable materials to show how these compost critters handle food scraps to make healthy soil.
