Two Ways to Participate:
Track the Time You Spend Reading This Summer
1. Use our online log at ReadSquared to set a goal for yourself and earn prizes!
2. Sign up for an account at https://dobbsny03.readsquared.com/
3. Set a goal for how much you’d like to read. The minimum goal is 5 hours over the course of the summer.
4. Read! For every minute you read and log, you get 1 point.
5. (optional) Attend programs! For every program you attend and log, you get 75 points. See our calendar for the full list of programs.
6. For every 10% of your goal that you reach, you get a prize from the treasure chest! Readers who complete their goal will get a free book from our book sale at the end of the summer.

Use your wits and teamwork to survive dangerous challenges and defeat powerful foes. Survive long enough and you may become heroes of legend! If you are new to roleplaying games or D&D looks too complex, Mausritter is a great introduction for players of all ages.
- July 24 & 31: Pirate Borg: Inspirations: Pirates of the Caribbean, works of HP Lovecraft, The Secret of Monkey Island. Explore the undead-infested Dark Caribbean in search of treasure and infamy. Find treasure, bury it, and search for someone else’s hidden loot. Steal a ship, fight the British, and flee from the unknowable terrors of the deep. Be the filthy, greedy scoundrel you always wanted to be and live the pirate life!
- August 7 & 14: FIST: Inspirations: Your favorite action heroes, spy movies, and Saturday morning cartoons. Take on the role of a paranormal mercenary and fight the battles no one else can. As a member of the Freelance Infantry Strike Team, you can expect to: prevent an Alien plot to brainwash the planet, battle legions of laser dinosaurs from the future, and rescue the President from a space volcano lair (again). Use your brains, tools, and a near-infinite supply of cool sunglasses to defend the world!

Paws for Reading with Buddy (Registration)

All Ages welcome.
Children read one-on-one with Buddy, a specially trained Reading Education Assistance Dog (R.E.A.D.) and his handler, Dobbs Ferry resident Marty Kanengiser. Children will select a book to read to Buddy before the program begins, and they will spend 10-15 minutes reading aloud. They are also welcome to ask questions about Buddy, a 12-year-old rescued black lab who loves children, other dogs, and reading.
