Paws for Reading with Buddy (Registration)
Saturday, September 14
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
All Ages welcome.
Children read one-on-one with Buddy, a specially trained Reading Education Assistance Dog (R.E.A.D.) and his handler, Dobbs Ferry resident Marty Kanengiser. Children will select a book to read to Buddy before the program begins, and they will spend 10-15 minutes reading aloud. They are also welcome to ask questions about Buddy, a 12-year-old rescued black lab who loves children, other dogs, and reading.

FerryCon 2024
Saturday, September 21

FerryCon is the library’s all day, yearly Comic Con-style flagship event for all ages that takes place one Saturday every fall (formerly spring). Since 2019, FerryCon has brought over 300 participants to the library for fun-filled events including artists alley, classes, panels, and contests that revolved around comic books, graphic novels, super heroes, and more!

- 12pm: Design in Animation: What It Is and How It’s Done with Gabriel Pinto (All Ages, best for Teens and Adults)
- 1pm: Story Writing Skills with Bad Kitty (and Nick Bruel) (Families)
- 2pm: Padawan Training with Empire Saber Guild (Ages 5-12)
- 3pm: How to Draw Anime with Paige Monte (ages 10-18)
- 4pm: Splatter Talk: Horror Writing with Dobbs Ferry’s Luis Paredes and Archie Comics’ Jamie L. Rotante (Teens and Adults)
- 4pm: Cosplay Contest with judge Harley Nox (library plaza)

Aquefest at the Keeper’s House

After an 8-year hiatus and for the first time since the opening of the Keeper’s House in Dobbs Ferry, the Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct are ecstatic to bring back their favorite community party, Aquefest!
Come out to the Keeper’s House to celebrate the 100th anniversary of New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation with puppets, a petting farm, bluegrass, art adventures and much more! Full schedule of the celebration to come!
The Keeper’s House is at 15 Walnut Street, Dobbs Ferry.
Miss Gina from the DFPL will be doing a storytime from 12 to 1pm.
