FerryCon is the library’s annual Comic Con-style flagship event for all ages that takes place one Saturday every fall (formerly spring). Since 2019, FerryCon has brought over 300 participants to the library for fun-filled events including artists alley, classes, panels, and contests that revolved around comic books, graphic novels, super heroes, and more!
This event is free but will include a suggested donation of $10 per family at the door. We’re fundraising for the library this year!
Headlining Events
We’re so excited about our line-up for you this year! The following events will be in the Community Room unless otherwise noted.

- 11am: Design Your Own Cosplay with Harley Nox (Tweens and Teens)
- 12pm: Cosplay Contest for Humans and Pets (All Ages)
- 1pm: In Conversation with James Howe (All Ages)
- 2pm: Special Training Session with Hoth Temple (ages 5-12)
- 3pm: How We Make Comics – And You Can Too with Fred Van Lente and Ryan Dunlavey (All Ages)
- 8pm: FerryCom Stand-Up Comedy Showcase (Ages 18+)
Other Activities
In the other parts of the library, you can:

- Play Magic the Gathering (big table near the circulation desk, 12-3pm)
- Participate in a costumed figure drawing session (second floor, 1:30-3pm)
- Learn to play Mythworks TTRPGs with designer Graham Gentz (all ages)
- Accomplish the Superhero Scavenger Hunt (a special edition of our monthly hunt!)
- Vote for your favorite local superhero at the Rivertowns Dispatch table
- Meet Star Wars characters from Rebel Legion (Echo Base) (all ages)
- Gaze into your own soul with a psychic energy healer (adults)
- Jump into our KPop Dance Party and enter the mystery bag giveaway (teen area upstairs)
- Purchase a tasty frozen snack from our local Mr. Softee truck (plaza)
- Create art as part of Chalk the Walk (all ages, plaza)
- Grab a temporary tattoo and other giveaways at tables throughout the library
- Take a snapshot in the Superhero Photo Booth
- Color and build with LEGOs in the Children’s Room
- Visit our authors, artists, and more at Artists’ Alley all over the library!
- Pause the FerryCon chaos by visiting our sensory break area on the library terrace

Raffle
Enter our raffle to win the kids, teen, and/or adult gift basket containing prizes like a signed Marvel comics, superhero merch, and more! Proceeds go to the Friends of the Dobbs Ferry Library. $3 for 1 ticket or $5 for 2 tickets. Feel free to buy these ahead of time in the week leading up to the event, too.
