Discover a community that understands your journey with diabetes, offering support and guidance when you need it the most. Experience the strength of being a part of a network that celebrates resilience and provides resources to help you navigate your own health journey and help those you know.  This program will offer support for Diabetes Management topics: Healthy Coping & Eating, Being Active, Taking Medications, Monitoring, Reducing Risks and Problem Solving.

These meetings are open to all community members, including Dobbs Ferry seniors, and will be held on the last Wednesday of the month.

Monthly Themes will be:

• November 26: Self-Care
• December 26: Holiday Cooking

A co-operative program between the Dobbs Ferry Public Library and Diabetes Sisters.

Join us for a special Latino-themed FREE Feliz Navidad Stand Up Comedy Showcase on Saturday, December 13th at 8pm (intended for 18+) in Dobbs Ferry Public Library’s Community Room!  

featuring: Andrew Alfredo, Headliner Henrick Ureña and more TBD! (bio’s below)
with Host Tim Deery and live music from Nathaniel Johnston

• for any arriving by rail, the library is located right up the hill from the Dobbs Ferry Metro North Hudson Line train stop

You are welcome to bring in outdoor food and/or drinks, as long as you clean up after yourself.

HEADLINER: HENRICK UREÑA
Henrick Ureña, a 10-year comedy veteran born in New York City and proudly 100% Dominican, brings big energy, physical comedy, and brutally honest storytelling to the stage. His extremely truthful style has landed him spots at premier venues like The Bridgeport Stress Factory, Comix Roadhouse, and The Stand. He has also hosted for comedy legend Loni Love.

Our resident Performer/Producer, Tim has run Comedy on the Hudson since 2018 and Cult Classic Movie Night since 2016.  His latest on screen work includes supporting roles in Jeff Frumess’ upcoming feature My Shadow, Jack Wheeler’s upcoming short I Love Summer, and the starring role in Wolf Face’s Owen Is A Dracula.

Nathaniel has been the exuberant Musical Director behind a number of DFPL’s Stand Up Comedy Shows over the past few years.  What you may not know is that this multi-talented artist doubles as a published photographic superhero, wielding his Nikon and creating photo magic for clients world-wide.  If you need professional, event, or individual photos – give him a shout!
