FerryCon 2025
Saturday, September 20
11:00 am - 4:00 pm
FerryCon is the library’s all day, yearly Comic Con-style flagship event for all ages that takes place one Saturday every fall (formerly spring). Since 2019, FerryCon has brought over 300 participants to the library for fun-filled events including artists alley, classes, panels, and contests that revolved around comic books, graphic novels, super heroes, and more!
This event is free but will include a suggested donation of $10 per family at the door. We’re fundraising for the library this year!
Headlining Events
We’re so excited about our line-up for you this year! The following events will be in the Community Room unless otherwise noted.

- 11am: Design Your Own Cosplay with Harley Nox (Tweens and Teens)
- 12pm: Cosplay Contest for Humans and Pets (All Ages)
- 1pm: In Conversation with James Howe (All Ages)
- 2pm: Learn to Draw Anime and Manga with Paige Monte (Tweens and Teens)
- 3pm: How We Make Comics – And You Can Too with Fred Van Lente and Ryan Dunlavey
- 8pm: FerryCom Stand-Up Comedy Showcase

- Learn to play Mythworks TTRPGs with one of their designers (all ages)
- Accomplish the Superhero Scavenger Hunt (a special edition of our monthly hunt!)
- Vote for your favorite local superhero at the Rivertowns Dispatch table
- Meet Star Wars characters from Rebel Legion (Echo Base) (all ages)
- Gaze into your own soul with a psychic energy healer (adults)
- Jump into our KPop Video Party and enter the mystery bag giveaway (teen area upstairs)
- Create art as part of Chalk the Walk (all ages, plaza)
- Grab a temporary tattoo and other giveaways at tables throughout the library
- Take a snapshot in the Superhero Photo Booth
- Color and build with LEGOs in the Children’s Room

- Pause the FerryCon chaos by visiting our sensory break area on the library terrace

Raffle
Enter our raffle to win one of two gift baskets containing prizes like a signed Marvel comics, superhero merch, and more! Proceeds go to the Friends of the Dobbs Ferry Library. $3 for 1 ticket or $5 for 2 tickets. Feel free to buy these ahead of time in the week leading up to the event, too.

Yiqing is a heart-driven multi-hyphenate: writer, actor, comedian, home chef, and rescue dog mama. She is on a mission to write funny and cathartic stories of Asian women’s empowerment journey. She can be seen in various comedy clubs or bars performing standup, taking musical improv class at Upright Citizens Brigade or in a coffee shop writing or daydreaming. The Man of 1,000 Voices, Allen has worked Atlantic City & opened for Broadway icon Joel Grey, done 1-on-1 scenes with James Gandolfini in The Sopranos & Oscar-winning Rami Malek in Mr. Robot, in 2024 performed at Lincoln Center alongside Director/Actor Mario Van Peebles, and Bettte Midler told him that she “loved” him in the musical The Game!
