Kick off the start of Summer with us on Saturday, June 21st at 8pm, with a special Juneteenth Weekend FREE Stand Up Comedy Showcase (intended for 18+) in Dobbs Ferry Public Library’s Community Room, celebrating the freedom, achievements, and culture of the African American community!

RUTHY FERRERA
Ruthy is a proud bi-lingual Bla-tina (Black Latina) and award-winning comedienne, who is the life of the party, having been born in her mother’s friend’s living room and raised in The Bronx. She has worked on The Howard Stern Show, was first comic to open the brand-new Copacabana nightclub in NYC, has featured for Joey Vega, was the 2024 “Newcomer” Winner of the renown Ladies of Laughter, and is the 2025 Winner of the Good Karma Comedy Festival. She actively performs in and produces shows throughout the New York Tri-State and beyond at comedy clubs, festivals, casinos and more.

COOPER REGO
Cooper is a NYC-based comic, who started performing while in college in 2002. For the past 23 years, he has been entertaining audiences with his observational, improvisational, and what he calls “athletic comedy”.

HEADLINER: JJ MATTISE
JJ is a New York-based comedian known for her laid-back delivery and sharply observational humor. Blending dry wit with expressive storytelling, she draws from real-life experiences—especially around relationships, family, and the everyday awkwardness of adulting. With a calm, confident stage presence, she has a talent for turning mundane moments into laugh-out-loud bits, using subtle expressions and perfectly timed pauses to land her punchlines. She was featured on Tubi’s 2023 Jokerz Wild comedy series and headlined the 2022 Black Women in Comedy Festival. She also holds residencies at New York , Broadway, and West Side Comedy Clubs.

Our resident Performer/Producer, Tim has run Comedy on the Hudson since 2018 and Cult Classic Movie Night since 2016. His latest on screen work includes supporting roles in Jeff Frumess’ upcoming feature My Shadow, Jack Wheeler’s upcoming short I Love Summer, and the starring role in Wolf Face’s Owen Is A Dracula.
