What is the Battle of the Books?
Battle of the Books is a book-based trivia tournament for Westchester youth. The Dobbs Ferry Public Library's team will compete by answering trivia questions based on the 5 books on this page in October! The winning team's library will get trophies to display for a year until the next battle. The top 3 teams will get prizes & everyone get a team t-shirt, books, & a certificate!

The County-Wide Battle is Saturday, October 19, 2018 at Hommocks Middle School in Larchmont from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
In addition to spectators cheering The Dobbs Ferry Team on at the battles, sponsors and volunteers are needed to support this program.
We are in need of judges, room monitors, ushers, greeters, and time/score keepers to help with the Battle of the Books! Click here to find out more about the event! Anyone over 14, who is not already a participant in BOB, can volunteer. If you are available and willing to volunteer, please send an email with your Name and Phone Number to firstname.lastname@example.org or register online.
Sponsors will be acknowledged on the Library Website, press releases, social media related to the event, as well as any other publicity materials. If you would like to make a donation, please make your check out to the Friends of the Dobbs Ferry Public Library and send to the library c/o Elizabeth Hobson. Please join us and support this great event which promotes literacy, encourages teens to look at the library as a resource for entertainment, and inspires good sportsmanship in an atmosphere of friendly competition.
